Sahara from Fès: Two or Three Days to Merzouga?
Updated October 18, 2026 · 5 min read
The short answer. Choose the two-day Sahara tour with a Merzouga camp stay if you must return quickly and accept a compressed road journey. It starts at €95.61. Choose three days when you want to finish in Marrakech or simply spread the long route over more time; a Fès-to-Marrakech three-day tour starts at €93.14.
What the two-day trip states
The two-day guided tour names a camel ride, dinner beneath the night sky, a Berber show and the camp stay. Another two-day route is published as 38 hours to two days and can finish in Fès or Marrakech. The endpoint matters as much as the camp: a cheap-looking tour is poor value if it leaves you in the wrong city.
Why three days can be the practical choice
The three-day Fès-to-Marrakech route turns the desert journey into transport between two bases. It suits an open-jaw Morocco itinerary and avoids returning north merely to travel south-west again. Two days suit a tighter Fès stay, but inevitably concentrate more driving into less time.
“Luxury camp” is not a standard category. Before booking, compare the room or tent type, bathroom arrangement, meals, camel activity, luggage handling, pickup and final drop-off. The short descriptions do not establish every inclusion.
Our recommendation
For a return trip centred on Fès, take the two-day Merzouga camp tour. If Marrakech is your next stop, choose a three-day through-route instead of paying to backtrack. Confirm the two-day tour’s endpoint on the booking page.
